Being a mom is one of the most difficult, yet most fulfilling and rewarding roles we moms have. Even though it comes with many challenges, can be incredibly hard, and definitely exhausting at times, I know I wouldn’t trade it for anything, as I’m sure you wouldn’t either.
I love my children with all my heart and I’d be lying if I said I didn’t feel like I lost myself a few years after becoming a mother. In fact, there was a time in my life that I didn’t even want to have kids, because I was afraid of what pregnancy would do to my body and I was afraid of losing myself in the process.
I believe fitness and nutrition are the gateway to the mind, and by working on both of these areas, I became not only stronger physically, but stronger mentally in the process.
Fitness has given me an inner confidence that I didn’t even know existed.
It’s also allowed me to:
- Set goals and achieve them (gym-related or not)
- Keep pushing through a challenge, even though it got hard
- Stand up for what I believe in
- Fight back and use my voice
- Feel powerful in the gym and in life
Fitness is my method. Whether it’s 15, 30, or 60 minutes, when I move my body, it moves my energy, and I never ever leave a session feeling less empowered than when I started.
