Tell Us About Yourself

I’M AMY!! Preschool director turned MOMBOSS! This biz started as a side hustle a few years ago – and it has now transformed into an ACTUAL biz (you know with team members & IRS payments)! As an online business manager, it’s my mission to support impact-driven entrepreneurs with behind the scene operational support so that they can maximize their reach and growth potential. We are dedicated to creating a legacy that encompasses cultivation and community while building a thriving business that is also extremely fulfilling.

What are you insanely passionate about?

When I’m not working, I love spending time with my husband, David, and our four kids. I love the outdoors and you can mostly find us planting our veggie garden in the spring, by the pool in the summer, a weekend trip to the lake, and hibernating under lots of blankets in the winter.

Our mamas love to hear about Daily Routines.
Tell us About Yours.

I swear by block-scheduling and batching tasks to make things super productive since I am always juggling a ton of hats. Generally my days looks like this: 6:30 wake-up and rest, relax, quick tidy up; 8:30 email and social media catchup; 9:00-12:00 scheduled work time; 12:00-1:00 lunch and hang out with the husband; 1:00-3:00 scheduled work time; 3:00-4:00 email and social media catchup; 4:00-8:00 family, dinner, kids extra-curricular, 8:00-9:00 catch-up (if needed) or self-care activities and hanging out with the hubs.

Let's Talk about Self-Care...

How do you define "self-care" in your life?

When I first thought about adding self-care into my daily routine, I laughed. I mean, who has time for bubble baths every night, weekly trips to the spa and a bank account to fill the house with scented candles. I think self-care is more taking care of yourself by cultivating healthy habits. Working out to manage your stress levels, eating healthy, meditating, and reading are some of the ways you can make sure you are balanced.

What are your favorite self-care activities?

I have started to implement a self-care power hour in order to implement a self-care routine as a daily non-negotiable. Some of my favorite ways are journaling, reading, wine and a bubble bath (cliche, right, haha), coloring, and easy yoga.

How do you find balance in your life?

Boundaries. Clear lines to keep those areas separate so I can be FULLY present in whatever activity I am in/doing.

Let's Talk About Mom Life...

What is your favorite thing about being a mom?

The un-ending amount of laughs, snuggles and love. Plus, whenever, they exclaim “Wow, Mom, you were right!” — it doesn’t happen offten but when it does, it’s the cherry on top.

How do you make your kids part of your "Driven Mama Life"?

Since this is a family biz, they are pretty familiar with what I do and who I work with. They love being able to help with client projects, shopping for gifts during the holidays and more. My teenagers also love all the ‘tips’ so they can use them on their own social media accounts. My favorite part is that they WANT to become part of the business when they graduate college.

Do you Ever experience "mom-guilt"?

Of Course

How do you Deal with it?

Be honest with yourself. Figure out what lead you to feeling this way and then devise a plan to be pro-active so that you can avoid those triggers in the future. Also, my favorite way to deal with mom guilt is to put the phone down and do a digital detox.

Our mamas are always asking for family-friendly recipes. What's your favorite one?

All of my kids (yep — all 4) love this recipe and ask for it weekly, a delicious Taco Pizza.

How about your favorite way to stay active as a busy Mom?

I love yoga! I prefer going to the studio, but, I settle with yoga at home most of the time.

Let's Talk About Your Driven Mama Life...

What is your favorite tool to help you manage a busy life?

My life and business is run by two things: Google calendar and Asana. They are what keeps everything ‘afloat’. Plus we love Insta-cart, hands down and we have a Trello board filled with 6 weeks of menus that we rotate through.

Sometimes we all need to get help at times. What do you delegate in your work and life?

We have a small but mighty team at Amy Edge & Co. I believe you should spend your time doing the things that light you up & outsource the rest so you can focus on your ZONE OF GENIUS! We also ‘outsource’ to our kids, they meal prep, cut the grass, clean the pool, misc admin tasks and more. They love knowing that they get a little extra money in their bank account by doing these tasks that are outside their normal ‘chores’.

WHat is Your best piece of advice to the driven mama reading this right now?

Don’t look at the outside world or those perfectly-curated squares on Insta — none of that is real. Figure out what makes you happy, what fuels your soul and find a way to ALWAYS do that!!!

Let's Have a Little Fun...

If you had an extra 15-minutes in your day, what would you do with it?

Sleep — hands down!!

If you had an extra $5,000 to spend, how would you spend it?

Spa day and a weekend trip to the lake!!

What is one thing making you so happy right now?

Hot tea, sunsets and reading by the pool.
