Tell Us About Yourself

My name is Stephanie Blake and I’m a mom of a little boy named Aiden, pup named Vinny and wife to Matt. I help female entrepreneurs become more organized and efficient in their businesses. Outside of work I enjoy spending time with my family, kickboxing, watching Netflix and eating Chipotle.

What are you insanely passionate about?

Helping other female entrepreneurs create systems and organizational processes in their businesses.

Tell us About Yours.

Each morning I wake up around 5:30 to make it to a 6:15 kickboxing class. After I get home I open up my computer and get to work on my tasks for the day. I’ll work until my son’s next feeding (11:00-ish) and then spend about an hour with him. After he falls asleep for his nap around noon, I get back to work again (client projects, coaching calls, Facebook lives..etc). After his nap is over (3:00-ish), I’ll feed him again and try to get some more work done (unless he’s being fussy and wants attention which happens 99% of the time, haha). My husband gets home from work around 6:45 so he’ll make dinner, I’ll clean up and we’ll spend some time together before going to bed around 10:00.

How do you define "self-care" in your life?

Spending time alone (I’m an introvert) and exercising.

What are your favorite self-care activities?

Planning out my tasks and projects for my life and business. I like to hold a monthly and weekly planning session so I know what I have coming up to work on. This helps me be less stressed and overwhelmed when the unexpected items come up because I can easily slot them in.

How do you find balance in your life?

I try to create routines for myself each day so I know what to expect. I have high levels of anxiety so if I don’t create a system to follow, I get too overwhelmed by all that I have to do. For example, mornings are for my own self-care (exercising/working), afternoons are for my son (feedings, 1-1 time..etc) and evenings/weekends are for my husband and getting things done around the house. If I have extra work that I didn’t complete during the week, I’ll slot it into a weekend day when we don’t have much going on and my husband can watch our son for a few hours.

What is your favorite thing about being a mom?

Holding my son and having him look up and smile at me. I still can’t believe that I made such an adorable little human :)

How do you make your kids part of your "Driven Mama Life"?

My son is only 3 months old so I haven’t had a chance to incorporate him yet but when he’s a little older I will definitely try to.

Do you Ever experience "mom-guilt"?

Of Course

How do you Deal with it?

Understand that you can’t do it all and you shouldn’t feel like you should have to. It’s easy to feel like you should be spending all of your time with your kids but when they see you going after your dreams and fulfilling your passions, they become better people for it…even if that means you have to give up a few hours a day so you can focus on reaching your own goals.

Our mamas are always asking for family-friendly recipes. What's your favorite one?

My husband does all of the cooking in our home, haha! But my favorite thing that he makes is eggs, hashbrowns and caramelized bacon. Click here for the recipe!

What is your favorite tool to help you manage a busy life?

Instacart, Amazon Prime, ClickUp (Project Management Tool), Google Calendar, My phone (Samsung Note – People hate on Android but it’s SO much more functional than an iPhone)

Sometimes we all need to get help at times. What do you delegate in your work and life?

My mother-in-law watches my son a few days a month so I can focus on working but I keep him most of the time. On days that she’s not working, she also helps us with cleaning bathrooms and the floors.

WHat is Your best piece of advice to the driven mama reading this right now?

Don’t feel like you have to do it all. It’s okay to ask for help and take it!

Let's Have a Little Fun...

If you had an extra 15-minutes in your day, what would you do with it?

I’d spend time playing with my son and giving my full attention to him.

If you had an extra $5,000 to spend, how would you spend it?

I would book a vacation for my husband and I since we don’t get a lot of 1-1 time together. He’s always wanted to go to Europe so we’d probably go to Paris. I’ve been there a few times but have ZERO problem going back :)

What is one thing making you so happy right now?

Being able to work at home while watching my son grow up. It’s amazing how much they change every single day so I’m really proud of myself for creating a life that allows me to do so.
